Boney Kapoor Breaks Down As Deepika Padukone Launches Book On Sridevi
Deepika Padukone along with Boney Kapoor and English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde made their presence felt at the book launch of Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess. The event became an extremely emotional one when Boney Kapoor broke down while remembering his late wife and superstar.
Sridevi’s tragic death on February 24 shocked the entire nation. Her husband Boney Kapoor's daughter- Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor were devastated. It was filmmakers’ kids from his first wife, Mona Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor, who stood by the family in the moment of grief. It’s been more than a year since Kapoor’s are trying to fill the void in their hearts, but every time they talk about the late actress, tears roll down their cheeks.
Yesterday, Deepika Padukone along with Boney Kapoor and English Vinglish director Gauri Shinde made their presence felt at the book launch of Sridevi. After unveiling the first look poster of Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess, the book was launched, last evening. But during such an emotional moment, Boney Kapoor was seen getting emotional while remembering the late superstar. Written by author-screenwriter Satyarth Nayak, the book has been approved by the late actor’s producer husband Boney Kapoor. Not many know, Kajol has written the forewords for the biography on the Mom actress. She had confirmed the same and said, “I have grown up watching Sridevi’s superstardom on film-sets and her magic on the big screen. She is an institution of acting and will forever remain my most favourite icon. So happy Penguin gave me this opportunity to write this foreword."
Earlier, on the occasion of Sridevi’s birthday, Boney Kapoor had opened up about his late wife during a conversation with BehindWoods TV. In the video, Boney Kapoor has spoken about his late wife and has tears in his eyes while remembering her. He told channel in a choked voice, “She was a legend in her lifetime and she remains a legend after she has left us. She may have left for the world, but for me, for us, she is still around. She is wishing us well and taking care of us and is still around.”
